OpenMellow
Privacy policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026 · Applies to the iPhone, Apple Watch and Android apps.
In short
OpenMellow collects no personal data. There is no account, no server and no analytics. The app talks only to your Mellow Drive, over Bluetooth.
What stays on your phone
- The Bluetooth identifier of your Drive, so the app can reconnect to it automatically.
- The last values received from your Drive (battery, odometer…), shown when it is off.
- Your settings: board name, low-battery threshold, range setting, intro and safety screen seen.
- Ride consumption learned per mode, to estimate the kilometres left.
All of this is stored only on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Location
If you allow it, your location is used on your device to centre the range map on you. It is never sent to us. To draw the map, the app downloads map tiles of the area shown from OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap privacy policy).
Bluetooth log
The debug log is recorded only if you turn it on. It contains your Drive's technical data and never leaves your phone unless you choose to share it yourself.
Notifications
The low-battery notification is created on your phone. Nothing is sent to a server.
